This is Part 1 of 2 in a blog series about the TRUTH in quality equipment
Who uses high quality equipment vs. the DJ that “says he uses high quality equipment”
There are people that own a few speakers and a CD player and they call themselves “professional DJs”, “Professional A/V companies” or “Professional Bands”.

At Groovy Sound Productions, we provide quality and value at a reasonable price. We often lose business to guys that put a LOW number in front of a prospective client and then charge extra money for the things that we feel should be included in the price.
Many of our competitors charge extra money for: Microphones, extra speakers, speakers, ability to take requests, backup equipment, set up fees, take down of equipment fees, and "by the minute pricing".

Some of our clients ask about our music library (I like to call them Music assets since we spend money on them and we own them) and how current we keep our collection. There are several subscription services where we purchase music and music videos: Promo Only, ERG, and Funkymix. Those companies require that you are a working DJ and provide proof in order to subscribe.
In addition, I purchase music from Strictly Hits, 9 Inch Remix, Beatport, Amazon.com, Best Buy, several used CD record shop... Read More
